Opportunity, we all love this word. It is a word that inspires hope as well as something we can wish upon to make our lives better. A single event that will enlighten us & take us away on its feathered wings. In life, sometimes all you need is a chance- that one opportunity of a lifetime. I’m happy to share my experience which I got when our company ‘Spoilt fox’ organised an incentive trip of ‘Crystal Crop Protection’ for 70 people & we went to Moscow, Russia. I travelled as a tour manager along with our directors Mr. Swaytank Maheshwari and Mr. Ashish Golcha. Though the trip began with fear of the unknown but we came back with memorable cheer!!!
My journey began right from Jaipur, when me along with my colleague, Akshay reached Delhi sorted the work, assisted the Crystal Crop team and aligned for the big trip!
The early morning flight from Delhi had a lot of running around in the airport with our 70 guests for immigration. It was exciting and a bit scary trust me.
Moscow thrills you with its artistry, history & majesty. We landed in Moscow post the immigration which went really smooth. However, the real challenge was the luggage that everyone carried, which we had to pass through customs, along with the Crystal Crop team, who were warmly greeted in the city centre hotel in Moscow.
Next day we had an experience of Bullet train. The bullet train ran at a fantastic speed of 250km/hr which was our first ever experience here from Moscow- Tver, a wonderful city, we had our breakfast which was amazingly Indian (when you're not in India). 5* Radisson river cruise has the evening highlight with panoramic tour of the city which was a complete delight.
Planning is important, I got to know about it then. Everyday we made sure that things worked out like we planned. A proper execution is essential when you have a large team thoroughly excited about their travel, which we have to ensure is fun. Cosmonautics museum- a wonderful way to space exploration with a walking tour of Red square basking in all the historical knowledge that we could get from our guide. The day ended with the very famous Nikulin Moscow Circus, which was a charm to watch. On day 4, the last day of our trip, we took a Metro tour, and strolled the touristy Arbat street.
The big challenge came when all the men had their conference back in the hotel & I had to take everyone else to visit the aquarium. It was my responsibility to take care of all of them & to come back to the hotel for Gala night in the evening. It was all a team effort, the tour manager, guides everyone ensured things went smoothly.
Gala Night was the highlight of the trip. For me the very special moment was when the “Chairman of Crystal Crop, Mr. Nand Kishore Aggrawal” applauded & appreciated our entire team for the wonderful coordination, team work, and management of the complete trip.
The entire trip has substantially proven its worth. I had a wonderful experience. It has been a privilege to work with the Directors, to face and solve problems on-the-spot. Also, my team, Parul, Himanshu at the backend supported and assisted us in every possible way. I've got wonderful memories which I will cherish throughout my life.
What I learned is that opportunity is all one needs in life. One must always be ready to grab it & give their 100 percent because it's your chance to prove that you are capable of doing it & to win the trust of people who believed in you.
